The inspiration for Mix and Match came from the timeless appeal of chairs that have captured our hearts over the years. Faria recognized that there was nothing left to invent in terms of chair design; instead, he sought to reinvent and decontextualize these classics to create something fresh and exciting. The result is a collection that combines nostalgia with a modern twist.

What sets Mix and Match apart is its ability to evoke emotions and create a sense of joy. Designed primarily for hotels, entrances, and commercial buildings, this collection offers three sizes of wooden benches and six different chairs to choose from. Each bench can also be equipped with a small table and USB sockets for charging phones and tablets. The customization options are virtually limitless, allowing you to create a truly unique seating arrangement.

The production process for Mix and Match involves two distinct stages. First, the wooden bench is created with discreet design elements that allow the chairs to shine. Then, the chairs are selected and adapted to fit securely into the bench, with their legs removed and a specially developed mechanism in place. The materials used include three different wood veneers, lacquer, and a variety of chair materials such as fabric, synthetic leather, polycarbonate, or polypropylene.

Technical specifications for the Mix and Match collection include three sizes of benches: large (3050 x 300 x 200), medium (2350 x 300 x 200), and small (1650 x 300 x 200). The benches are available in oak, walnut, and tineo wood veneers, while the chairs come in various materials depending on the model. The collection is delivered in multiple packages, depending on the selected parts.

Using Mix and Match is as simple as sitting down and enjoying the freedom to rotate the chairs on the bench. The optional USB charging plug and small tables add convenience for those using mobile devices or laptops. This collection was designed in Portugal during the first semester of 2019 and has since gained recognition for its innovative approach to seating design.
